Dual side loading

This option is available on our 135-PD and 180-PD Snowmelters and allows for loading of the melting tank on either side of the machine and offers more flexibility when positioning the machine prior to melting operations. One loader can be employed to load snow unimpeded from each side. This option requires repositioning of the two burners and the lengthening of the machine by 2 feet. This option can only be ordered with a new machine and cannot be added to existing machines. Dual (two) Side Loading is a standard feature on the 250-PD, 350-PD and 500-PD Snowmelters.

Snowstart

Standard Trecan Snowmelters require a significant volume of water in the melting tank prior to beginning melting operations. The Snowstart option allows for fabricating and installing a stainless steel sparger tube and attaching it to a single Trecan burner. This then allows the operator to load several buckets of snow into the melting tank, fire up the Snowstart system and create the amount of water necessary prior to starting actual melting operations. Snowstart is a very desirable option if access to water is limited or simply not convenient. This option can only be ordered with a new machine and cannot be added to existing machines. It is available in a single burner option on the 60-PD, 80-PD, 135-PD and 500-PD Snowmelters.

Jet Fuel Rated Components (JP8)

Because of availability and costs, being able to operate the Snowmelter on Aviation Fuel is a very desirable option with Commercial and Military Airports. Any Standard Trecan Snowmelter new or used can be modified to accept some types of Aviation Fuel. The process involves slight adjustments to the burner fuel / air ratio, installing lubricity filters on the engine fuel system and changing valve material. Please let us know the type of fuel available so we can determine if the Snowmelter can be modified to operate with the desired fuel.
